Wholeness Journey Coffee Roasters · Zambia & Uganda

Coffee for what comes after rescue.

Single-origin micro-lots from Zambia and Uganda, roasted the week they ship. Every bag funds the healing retreats and workshops we run for survivors of human trafficking.

From $17.95 a pound. Whole bean or ground, four roast levels, roasted to order.

Two origins

Two coffees, and four ways to roast either one.

Before the retreat

One question. Not what do we want to teach them. How do we want them to feel.

We wrote fourteen of them down and then built the retreat around making every one true. There was a pizza party, and a dinner where everyone got dressed up because feeling beautiful was on the list. Spa time, art therapy, a swim every night. And in between all of it we worked on how to keep healing a wound you are still carrying.

Two women holding each other tightly at the end of a session, one laughing over the other's shoulder, while a small girl reaches up to join the hug.

Why this label exists

Rescue is not enough.

Freedom without healing is not really freedom. Without identity, without emotional restoration, without knowing they carry purpose, someone who has been rescued stays vulnerable to being exploited all over again.

That is the gap we exist to fill. Safety is the floor. It was never meant to be the ceiling.

This is our coffee label. What it earns pays for the next retreat, and the work that follows it.

The journey

We work in six countries, and it is the same work in all of them

We do not run the shelters. We partner with the organizations that do, and bring the part they have asked us for.

  1. Stop 01

    United States

Workshops and healing retreats for survivors, run with local organizations. We also train facilitators to host Wholeness Workshops in their own communities.

  2. Stop 02

    Costa Rica

Retreats for young people aged 11 to 25 healing from sex trafficking, alongside local partners who house them and teach them a trade.

  3. Stop 03

    Thailand

An ongoing partnership in Pattaya, the largest sex tourism destination in the world, serving people rescued from the sex-for-sale industry as they learn cosmetology and barbering.

Five people crushed into one laughing group hug in a salon, a man in the middle with his eyes shut, shelves of rolled towels behind them.
  4. Stop 04Since 2016

    Guatemala

With a women’s ministry in San Pedro serving impoverished women who are highly vulnerable to abuse and exploitation, ages 10 through their 60s.

Three women in embroidered blouses laughing together on a street, one of them mid-embrace with a member of the team.
  5. Stop 05

    Colombia

Our partner in Medellin provides short and long term refuge for families rebuilding after abuse. The retreats are for the whole family.

Four women standing with their heads bowed together and their arms around one another during a session.
  6. Stop 06

    Spain

Street outreach where prostitution is widespread. We build relationships, remind women they are worthy, and connect them to the resources they need to get back on their feet.

Zambia and Uganda

This is the farm it came off.

Living Hope, in Zambia. Fourth Man Roasters buys both our lots direct from the farms that grow them, and roasts them for us in California.

A session in the open air, everyone standing on their mats with both arms stretched overhead, jungle all around them.

Coffee Club

So you can stop thinking about buying coffee

Pick your roast and your size, whole bean or ground, choose every month or every two weeks, and it arrives roasted that week. And it lets us book a retreat in April for July.
